Texture and Trace Element Geochemistry of Quartz: A Review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Quartz is one of the most abundant minerals. Used in a variety materials, it preserves geological history and reflects alteration conditions. Data were collected (>2400 data points) from more than 40 ore deposits to understand its internal texture geochemistry. Cathodoluminescence imaging technique for examining quartz that may reveal information about crystal’s origin evolution. The dominant trace elements lattice are Al, P, Li, Ti, Ge, K, Na. These, combined with texture, can distinguish different origins differentiate between types deposits, as each type deposit has own unique CL characteristics. Therefore, Al did not correlate cathodoluminescence (CL) epithermal Au-Sb-Hg, Carlin-type Au, Ag, or shale-hosted Zn deposits. Epithermal base metal porphyry-Cu-type intermediate, Mississippi-Valley-type, Au-Ag, porphyry Cu-Mo characterized correlation CL. Furthermore, Gigerwald, Rohdenhaus, Westland had Li/Al ratios less one, suggesting H (as hydroxyl substituting oxygen) completed charge. However, (i.e., Sb, Al), sector zoning, resorption surfaces vital parameters magmatic hydrothermal quartz. Additionally, titanium aluminum important elements. Their values could be used types. Among them, pegmatitic by lower temperatures Ti concentrations. Rhyolitic was lowest highest temperatures, Al/Ti ratios. Aluminum, metamorphic quartz, but generally enriched Ti.

A study of cathodoluminescence and trace element compositional zoning in natural quartz from volcanic rocks: mapping titanium content in quartz.

This article concerns application of cathodoluminescence (CL) spectroscopy to volcanic quartz and its utility in assessing variation in trace quantities of Ti within individual crystals. CL spectroscopy provides useful details of intragrain compositional variability and structure but generally limited quantitative information on element abundances. Microbeam analysis can provide such informatio...

Urban environmental geochemistry of trace metals.

As the world's urban population continues to grow, it becomes increasingly imperative to understand the dynamic interactions between human activities and the urban environment. The development of urban environmental geochemistry has yielded a significant volume of scientific information about geochemical phenomena found uniquely in the urban environment, such as the distribution, dispersion, an...
